Nissan Pathfinder concept comes to the 2012 Detroit Motor Show completely redesigned to suit soccer mom needs.
After the first official teasers the Japanese finally unveil completely this model at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. The current Nissan Pathfinder is getting ready to leave the stage after a successful career during which it has improved Nissan’s reputation.Nissan decided to come to the Detroit Motor Show with a concept that prefaces the production version of the new gen Nissan Pathfinder.
The front seems to be a reinterpretation of the current design of the Pathfinder the straight lines now being more round. The headlights are now placed horizontally and the big grill is more imposing and the whole front end is much more chromed. In the back the design approach is completely new with a lot more curbed lines compared to the previous generation when the back was completely square. Now the round lines go all the way to the brake lights and above the trunk we meet chrome once again.
The power is supplied by a V6 engine paired with a CVT transmission. This improves the fuel efficiency with 25% compared to the old model which makes the car one of the most fuel efficient 7 seats SUV’s on the market.Eco freaks will be pleased to know that the CO2 emissions are very much reduced by the new engine. Also Nissan claims that the new Pathfinder is almost 400 lbs lighter which is an amazing weight reduction.
This vehicle is created to suit urban needs very well which will please most customers that to be honest very rarely get out of town. The CVT transmission is still rubbish as the Top Gear presenters might say but Nissan says their working to improve it.Nissan Pathfinder’s towing and off-road capabilities are expected to remain pretty much the same.

This latest incarnation of the Pathfinder certainly is pretty impressive. Looking at this pictures makes it hard it hard to imagine that it used to be a boxy vehicle that had a tendency to rust in a number of places.
