The teasing campaign initiated by the Chrysler Group for the Dodge Dart model was wildly successful.Finally somebody became to eager and made public the complete pics and videos of the 2013 Dodge Dart.Damn we’re glad to finally see completely the Dodge Dart.This model is a design masterpiece being the result of the combined work of both American and Italian designers.
The 2013 Dodge Dart is Chrysler’s surprise for the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.Until now we got a series of teaser pictures of some details of the Dodge Dart design both for the interior and exterior.Now finally somebody at Dodge released the entire pics gallery on the internet before the official introduction which is tomorrow.January 9th is the day that press is allowed to explore the Detroit Motor Show premiers so tomorrow all the technical details of the new Dodge will be made public.
The 2013 Dodge Dart is a 4 door compact sedan which uses the same technical platform as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.So Dart, the American brother of the Alfa Giulietta, will be manufactured in America at the Chrysler Belvidere plant.
This model will be the most compact car in the Dodge range for the American market and at the same time the most fuel efficient Dodge ever made until now.The American clients will have the option to choose between three 4 cylinder engines.
The smallest is a 1.4 Liter MultiAir from Fiat that makes 170 HP.The middle engine is a 2.0 liter TigerShark (Tigershark are the new generation of engines from Dodge) and the most powerful will be a 2.4 TigerShark turbocharged which will produce 285 HP on the R/T version.
In the future maybe in a year or so Dodge will actually launch an SRT4 version for the Dart, that would be nice.The transmission also offers three choices, a six speed manual, a six speed double clutch automatic(TCT) and a nine speed automatic for increased fuel economy figures.
The version of the Dart equipped with the nine speed automatic is rumored to get easily a combined 42 Mpg which is really great for its class.This gearbox was developed by ZF and is the first nine speed transmission in the world on a production car.
